Dear Parishioners,

Parish Visiting: The Rector is making his way around the Parish finding places and people, (and sometimes getting lost on both counts!) Of those not already visited, if any parishioner would like a pastoral visit soon, or knows of anyone who ought to be treated as priority, please let the rector or the Churchwardens know. This ministry will continue as being urgent, and in an attempt to establish a comprehensive and accurate database of parishioners of Monkstown. There will be meetings in September for Newsletter distributors to assist in this matter.

The Rector would be pleased to receive names of those who would like to assist with the Ministry of the Word on Sundays, supplementing that of the Rector and Ms King and Mr. Kidd. Potential readers will be given training for this task. Please give your name to either the Rector or the Churchwardens.

Daily Worship: From early September (exact date announced in church) daily worship will be offered Monday-Friday at 10.45 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: Morning Prayer Wednesday & Feast Days: Holy Communion. The Church door will be open, the bell will be rung, and of those who cannot be present, they will be assured that prayer is being offered for the Parish, the community, the country and the world each day at 10.45 a.m.

Sunday School: The new season begins in September. A new team of teachers under the direction of Olwen will be ready for the children and we look forward to what the new season will bring. If anyone in the Parish would like to be an occasional helper in this ministry with children they are asked to give their name to Olwen or to the Rector. They will be given training and also made compliant with the Parish’s Safeguarding Trust policy.

Parish Registers: Holy Baptism:  Cameron Michael, son of David & Yvonne Owenwas baptised at Monkstown on Sunday July 26th. Isaac, son of Ian and Linda Bell was baptised at Monkstown on Sunday August 23rd.
