Dear Parishioners,

On Easter Sunday we bid a fond farewell to our organist Siobhán Kilkelly. Siobhán has been with us for nearly 18 years and she will be sadly missed by all especially those in the choir who under her guidance have given us some wonderful music over the years. We also bid farewell to her assistant Simon Stroughair and we wish them both well in their future endeavours.

SPECIAL THANKS to certain individuals who during the past vestry term undertook maintenance of the church and grounds: ~particularly to Bill Deverel,to Gillian and Tom Aplin who have maintained the Memorial Garden to an exceptionally high standard, despite the adjoining but now completed restoration work. I would remind you that Ascension Thursday this year falls on 1 May. This is one of the major Feast Days of the church, a day when Christians all over the world will meet to worship the Risen, Ascended Lord Jesus Christ. There will be service on Holy Communion at 7.30 p.m. in the church on that day.

The large stained glass central window, which dates from the early 1870’s, had become badly distorted due to lead fatigue. The window was removed off site, dismantled, cleaned and re-leaded. The flanking windows were cleaned and repaired on site.

It is expected that the final cost of the above work will come within budget and as soon as the church has been cleaned after the above work, it is intended to commence work on the refurbishment of the organ, which will take several months.
